The Miami Dolphins released franchise quarterback Tua Tagovailoa earlier this month after an underwhelming 2025 season. The former Dolphins signal-caller has reportedly agreed to sign with the Atlanta Falcons.
While Tagovailoa is set to compete with Michael Penix Jr. for the starting role in Atlanta, Miami Heat is reportedly feeling the effects of his departure. According to NBA writer Tim Reynalds, Heat star Bam Adebayo is averaging “83.0 points per game since the Dolphins released Tua Tagovailoa.”

The NBA writer reported the stat after Bam Adebayo had a historic performance against the Washington Wizards for a 150-129 win. Adebayo registered the second-highest individual scoring game in NBA history after tallying a franchise record 83 points.
He broke several record during his outing, including NBA icon Kobe Bryant’s highest score (81) against the Toronto Raptors.
