A WWE Hall of Famer is not interested in joining AEW anytime soon. Since its inception in 2019, AEW has seen an influx of stars and legends from the Stamford-based promotion on its roster.
There have been reports of how Tony Khan’s company offers stars better compensation and a more relaxed schedule compared to its rival. This makes it an enticing prospect for names who want to jump the ship.
Thanks for the submission!
However, former World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali isn’t keen on joining Tony Khan’s company anytime soon.
The Hall of Famer recently spoke with Monopoly Events’ Jamal Niaz at For The Love of Wrestling 2026 and was asked whether he would be interested in joining AEW. Khali said that if he ever returns to the ring, he would only do so with WWE.

“If I work one day, I only want to work in WWE, because WWE made me a star. So I won’t work for any other company,” he said.
The Great Khali joined the sports entertainment giant in 2006 and was quickly placed in feuds with some of the company’s top names, such as The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, and Kane.
In 2007, he won a 20-man battle royal on SmackDown to become the World Heavyweight Champion. He left the promotion in 2014 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.
The Great Khali called out by WWE star for match at WrestleMania 43
The Great Khali’s last match in WWE came in the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018, and he has made sporadic appearances since then.
While it is unclear when and if he will return to the promotion, SmackDown star Kit Wilson recently called him out for a match at WrestleMania 43.
Wilson recently interacted with fans in an AMA session on Instagram. He asked fans to spill what was toxic and said that he was listening. A fan then dropped Khali’s name out of nowhere.
This led to Wilson pitching the idea of “Kit vs. Khali” at the Show of Shows next year in Saudi Arabia.
