Best Pokemon TCG Pocket Mega Mawile ex deck guide: Strategy breakdown

1) Mega Mawile ex
- HP: 170
- Move: Heat-Up Crunch
- Move Damage: 60
- Move Effect: Every time Heat-Up Crunch is used, it permanently gives a buff of 30 damage that stacks as long as Mega Mawile ex stays in the Active Spot
- Move Energy Cost: 1 Metal and 1 Colorless Energy
- Retreat Cost: 1 Energy
The game plan is straightforward: once Mega Mawile ex is ready, bring it to the Active Spot as soon as possible. Although it starts with 60 damage, each turn it survives, its damage output grows which eventually becomes a major threat.
Defensive cards such as Metal Core Barrier, Steel Apron, Adaman, Lucky Ice Pop, and Pokemon Center Lady are crucial here. Their combined damage reduction and healing allow Mega Mawile ex to remain in play long enough to reach high damage numbers.
2) Skarmory (Space-Time Smackdown)
- HP: 80
- Move: Metal Arms
- Move Damage: 20+
- Move Effect: Deals an extra 30 damage if a Pokemon Tool is attached
- Move Energy Cost: 1 Metal Energy
- Retreat Cost: 1 Energy
Equipping Skarmory with Rocky Helmet allows it to do early-game chip damage. It buys you time while damaging targets while Mega Mawile ex is being prepared on the Bench. More importantly, Skarmory, being the only non-ex attacker in the deck, deals with Oricorio Pom-Pom.
3) Cleffa (Wisdom of Sea and Sky)
- HP: 30
- Move: Twinkly Call
- Move Damage: None
- Move Effect: Pulls a random Pokemon from your deck to your hand
- Move Energy Cost: None
- Retreat Cost: None
Because it requires no Energy, Cleffa can be used immediately to help fill your hand with key Pokemon. However, its extremely low HP means it should only be used in the very early game, as almost any attack will knock it out and cost you a point.
