Connor Zilisch’s team, Trackhouse Racing, has shared an unusual message about their rookie driver ahead of the NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The No. 88 Chevy driver, sponsored by Jockey, qualified in 25th place on the grid for the Cup race at the 1.5-mile oval on Saturday. Trackhouse Racing has extended its partnership with the underwear brand, which is celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year.
Thanks for the submission!
Jockey will serve as the primary sponsor for Ross Chastain in the No. 1 car, too, but the Vegas race on March 15 will be its first of the 2026 season, and Zilisch will be wearing Jockey underwear with a new pair of shoes to match the car, according to the team.
“Connor Zilisch is wearing Jockey underwear. … A developing story today in Vegas,” Trackhouse Racing wrote on X.
The post by Trackhouse Racing also sent fans into a frenzy.
“Fashion Icon Connor Zilisch continues to be trending,” a fan wrote.
“Yall gotta stop doing this I about fell out my chair,” another commented.
“My heart almost stopped!” another fan wrote.
Not all fans were ready for the information and questioned the team’s social media team.
“Are you sure he wanted you to share this,” a fan asked.
“TMI admin,” another wrote.
Dirty Mo Media also left a sarcastic response to the post, sharing NASCAR’s required attire of fire-resistant underwear.
“He’s so close to being fully compliant.”
Meanwhile, Zilisch, who left his F1 dream behind, is chasing his first NASCAR Cup win in his rookie season wth Trackhouse this weekend.
“I didn’t have the family money to go do it” – Connor Zilisch on giving up on F1 dream and choosing NASCAR
Connor Zilisch grew up dreaming of racing in F1 but shifted his focus to the NASCAR Cup Series. The 19-year-old explained that the decision was due to timing and the lack of opportunities in the open-wheel racing series.
During the recent episode of the Speed podcast with host Kevin Harvick and Will Buxton, Zilisch revealed that his talk with former NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick helped him understand the NASCAR community and the opportunities in the series.
“I owe it to Kevin. In 2021, I was racing go-karts and a little bit of sports car stuff. Nothing at a high level. At that point, the opportunity to go open-wheel racing wasn’t there. I didn’t have the family money to go do it. It was very expensive. Even the open wheel feeder stuff. There was not much opportunity,” Connor Zilisch said (09:50 onwards).
And Zilisch, who has won races in almost every series he has raced in, including the CARS Tour, Trans-Am, IMSA, ARCA, and NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, still might race in F1 one day.
Earlier this year, Zilisch said that if an F1 chance appears one day, he would “definitely think about it.” For now, his attention stays on the Cup Series, which heads into its fifth race of the 2026 season with the Pennzoil 400 scheduled to start at 3:10 pm CT on Sunday.
Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin, and Ty Gibbs will lead the field to the green flag at the 1.5-mile oval in Vegas.
