NBA YoungBoy stirred up the internet after he shared a public message addressed to Nicki Minaj. For context, on February 7, the rapper took to his newly created X (formerly Twitter) account to post a heartfelt message to express both emotional reliance and affection toward Minaj.
“@NICKIMINAJ this yo li n***a, idk what’s going on but I love you and I need you,” he wrote.
The following day, on February 8, popular X page Kurrco amplified the moment by sharing a screenshot of YoungBoy’s post.
“NBA YoungBoy has a message for Nicki Minaj,” the post was captioned.

As the post circulated, users quickly took to the comments to express confusion, amusement, and curiosity. One user summed up the general sentiment by pointing out how unclear the situation was.
“omg what even is this? like, are they friends or something? wild vibes lol,” the user wrote.
Some X users suggested that YoungBoy may not have been in the right state of mind when he posted the message.
Some X users interpreted the tweet more positively. They argued that the message reflected a genuine bond between the two artists, suggesting that YoungBoy was reaching out to Minaj because of their good relationship.
NBA YoungBoy and Nicki Minaj’s shared support for Trump

As per a Complex report dated February 8, speculation emerged after NBA YoungBoy posted a tweet referencing Nicki Minaj, leaving fans divided on whether the rapper was attempting to spark a collaboration or making a public display of affection.
While the intent behind the tweet remained unclear, the outlet noted that it was unlikely to signal anything romantic.
YoungBoy was married to influencer Jazlyn Mychelle in 2023 and had 10 confirmed children with eight different women. Minaj, meanwhile, had been married to Kenneth Petty since 2019, making the prospect of anything beyond professional admiration improbable.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding YoungBoy’s tweet, the two artists notably shared a common interest: their outspoken support for U.S. President Donald Trump.
YoungBoy had previously made headlines for referencing Trump’s famous “Make America Great Again” slogan in the title of his 2025 album, MASA (Make America Slime Again).
During a Complex interview, journalist Jordan Rose asked the rapper about the meaning behind the album title. YoungBoy explained that it reflected his belief in following Trump’s approach and ideology
“It means follow whatever Trump’s applying. In every way… Enforce whatever Trump’s applying. That’s it,” he said ( as per Complex)
While the rapper did not expand further on the statement, he reiterated that people should abide by Trump’s rules “in every way.”
When Rose questioned whether Trump had pardoned him the previous year, YoungBoy distanced himself from the topic, saying he knew nothing about it. He gave the same response when asked if he had ever met or spoken with Trump.
On the other hand, Nicki Minaj’s support for Trump has been more publicly visible in recent months.

Her admiration for the president culminated in her appearance alongside him at the Trump Accounts Summit. During the event, she openly aligned herself with Trump.
“I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan. And that’s not going to change. And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all…It actually motivates me to support him more,” Minaj said ( as per CBC)
The Super Bass rapper made the declaration on stage at a Treasury Department summit, where Trump was promoting his new “Trump accounts” initiative.
After introducing Minaj as “the greatest and most successful female rapper in history,” Trump claimed she would be donating “hundreds of thousands of dollars” of her own money to the program.
Following the event, Minaj reinforced her stance by sharing a post on X, where she displayed a Trump gold card visa.
So far, Nicki Minaj has not responded to NBA YoungBoy’s tweet.
