Stefon Diggs hits back at critics after reaching Super Bowl

Stefon Diggs is set to appear in the first Super Bowl of his career after helping the New England Patriots secure a 10–7 win over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.

Diggs spoke with NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe following the win and didn’t hold back when addressing those who questioned his ability and production.

“They were calling me washed,” Diggs said. “Saying I didn’t have it no more. I just wanted to prove myself I am who I say I am. This team took a chance on me. I just wanted to make them proud. I am just thankful, I’m thankful.”

Diggs was selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the 146th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent five seasons in Minnesota before being traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2020.

While he reached the playoffs in all four of his seasons with Buffalo, his tenure was full of locker room issues. He played one season for the Houston Texans before arriving in New England, where he has made it to the Super Bowl in his first season.
