Former WWE and AEW name Saraya has been missing from the squared circle for well over a year now. The “Unproblematic Icon” has now dropped another massive hint regarding her potential in-ring return this year.
Saraya announced in March of 2025 that she was parting ways with All Elite Wrestling, ending her nearly three-year-long tenure in the Jacksonville-based company. Since then, The Anti-Diva has been linked with rumors of a WWE return. Although she was expected by fans to appear in the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble match as a participant, this did not come to pass.
Over the past few weeks, Saraya has been spotted preparing for her in-ring comeback with independent wrestler Vipress. Around a couple of hours ago, the former AEW Women’s World Champion took to Instagram to post a clip of herself training with The Serpent Of Evil. The caption of the post seemingly teased her imminent return to action this year.
“Chris went “easy” on us today he said 😂 2026 ain’t ready..” – wrote the former WWE superstar.
Saraya’s latest match till date took place on the Title Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite back in 2024. On the episode in question, she unsuccessfully competed in a four-way contender’s match for the AEW Women’s World Title also featuring Jamie Hayter, Nyla Rose and the winner of the bout, Willow Nightingale.
Saraya’s recent comments on her AEW run
Although her All Elite Wrestling run saw the grappler win the company’s top prize on her home soil and feud with many of its established and budding names, Saraya expressed some dissatisfaction with her booking in the Tony Khan-led promotion during her recent interview on Wrestling with Freddie. The erstwhile Paige explained her issues with her on-screen character in the company, and spoke about being unable to take part in certain matches and programs that she was interested in.
“I’m taking wrestling so seriously. I lost my passion for it for a second. I kind of fell out of love with it, and it was kind of making me miserable at one point. I feel like the company I was in — I loved being in AEW. I had so much fun. But, the character I was doing, I wasn’t too happy with and I wish I could have done certain matches and certain things and it didn’t come to be and it’s fine. It’s absolutely fine. That’s what was supposed to happen. But, yeah, I just kind of fell out of love with it,” said the Diva of Tomorrow. [H/T: Fightful]
It remains to be seen what lies next for the former Divas Champion on her pro-wrestling journey.
