Wolverhampton Wanderers took a social media dig on Arsenal for their time-wasting tactics in their 2-2 Premier League draw at Wolves on Wednesday (February 20).
Bukayo Saka had fired the Gunners into a fifth-minute lead before Piero Hincapie doubled their advantage 11 minutes into the second period. Wolves, though, pulled one back through Hugo Bueno just past the hour mark before Tom Edozie bagged a dramatic 94th-minute equaliser for the basement dwellers.
Thanks for the submission!
With just two wins in their last seven league outings – drawing the last two – the Gunners are five points clear of second-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
Wolves, 20th in the standings and looking likely to get relegated, posted a Tiktok video (via Metro) highlighting Gunners players’ time-wasting tactics. One footage showed the visiting players talking, while another showed midfielder Declan Rice taking a slow walk to take a corner. The clip was captioned:
“Must be some confusion over who takes corners. If only you could practice this before match day.”
In another footage, Gabriel Magalhaes was seen going down to the turf with an injury, only to promptly get back to his feet. Wolves captioned the clip:
“He must be really hurt. Oh… he’s fine.”
There was also a clip of Leandro Trossard getting injured, with Wolves posting several eye-rolling emojis. The Belgian was on the field for just 17 minutes before a concussion substitute came on in his place.
As per Opta, the Gunners have taken 117 minutes – the longest by any side – to restart Premier League games from corners this season and average 44-second delay to restart play from corners, another league high.
What’s next for Arsenal?

Arsenal lead the Premier League standings after 27 games, but back-to-back away draws at Brentford and Wolverhampton have stymied their title push, allowing Manchester City to potentially close the gap to just two points.
The Gunners have little time to dwell on the dropped points, though, as they next visit Tottenham Hotspur in the league on Sunday (February 22). Spurs are 16th in the points table, just five points clear from the drop zone.
Mikel Arteta’s side remain in the hunt for an unprecedented quadruple, having reached the EFL Cup final (against Manchester City), FA Cup fifth round (against Mansfield Town) and the UEFA Champions League knockouts.
