KATSEYE member Manon Bannerman has announced a temporary pause in activities to prioritize her health. On February 20, 2026 (local time), the music agencies of KATSEYE, HYBE and Geffen Records shared an official notice through the group’s Weverse fan community stating that Manon will be stepping back from group schedules for the time being.
According to the statement, the decision was made so the artist can focus on her health and overall well-being. The agencies said the decision followed “open and thoughtful conversations,” adding that the artist will step back to focus on her health and well-being.
The agencies added that KATSEYE will continue its previously scheduled activities during her hiatus and expressed hope that the group will reunite in full when the timing is appropriate.
Following the announcement, reactions on social media appeared mixed. Many fans expressed support for Manon’s decision and shared messages wishing her a smooth recovery and return.
However, some others voiced concern about the group’s future. Drawing comparisons to Zayn Malik’s exit from One Direction, which preceded the group’s hiatus, and Camila Cabello’s departure from Fifth Harmony, one X user commented,
“She’s pulling a Zayn/Camila I can feel it”
Online users continued to debate the development, with some speculating about the artist’s future in the group and others questioning the group’s long-term plans.

Shortly after the announcement, Manon Bannerman addressed fans directly through Weverse’s private messaging feature. In her update, she reassured supporters about her condition and expressed appreciation of the concern shown by fans.
“I’m healthy, I’m okay, and I’m taking care of myself. Thank u for checking in! Sometimes things unfold in ways we don’t fully control, but I’m trusting the bigger picture. Thank you for standing by me. I love you endlessly and can’t wait to see you again.” said the singer.
KATSEYE was created in 2023 through the reality competition The Debut: Dream Academy and officially debuted in June 2024 as a six-member act. Since then, the group has released two EPs 2024’s SIS (Soft Is Strong) and 2025’s Beautiful Chaos.
