Despite its large boundaries, the Ekana Stadium has become a pretty batter-friendly venue over the last couple of years. Therefore, it makes sense to bring in the highest run-getter in T20s at the ground, KL Rahul, who has scored 566 runs in 14 matches, averaging a solid 51.45.

Aiden Markram’s first season wearing the colors of Lucknow turned out quite well as he formed a formidable opening partnership with Mitchell Marsh. After a stellar T20 World Cup with the bat for the Proteas, Markram is another dependable IPL Fantasy pick for this clash.

Rounding out the selection is the exciting and fiery LSG seamer Mayank Yadav, who could offer tremendous value at only 7.5 credits if he manages to keep himself fit this season.

While we’re content to stop with three transfers, we would be interested in making a fourth if Anrich Nortje were named in the LSG playing XI, in place of RCB’s Abhinandan Singh, which would then lead us to select Aquib Dar or Natarajan instead of Mayank Yadav.

KL Rahul’s consistency makes him the frontrunner for captaincy, although his current form does offer Aiden Markram some advantage. We’re unlikely to back Mayank Yadav with captaincy at a venue where batters don’t lose too many wickets.
