A former WWE star made a shocking revelation about her run in the company. She has since moved on to TNA Wrestling.

Ash by Elegance worked for the WWE for several years under the ring name Dana Brooke. Despite coming from a body building background, Dana was never pushed in WWE. However, she always gave her best performance. Dana also managed to get over with the fans who wanted the sports entertainment juggernaut to book her well. Despite her popularity, the only title she held in the Stamford-based promotion was the 24/7 Championship. After her release from the company, Dana went to TNA Wrestling where she rebranded herself as Ash by Elegance. Under the TNA banner, Ash did well for herself and even won the Knockouts World Championship.

During a recent interview on the Generation of Wrestling podcast, Ash by Elegance said that TNA Wrestling gave her the confidence she needed. She also revealed that she felt that WWE never gave her a fair shot.

“To be honest with you, this is a great question because TNA was a breath of fresh air. I needed it. I needed it for my soul. I needed it for my confidence. I just needed it. I needed it for me. I just I felt like I had so much left in the tank. I wasn’t really given a fair shot in WWE. I did everything that was ever asked of me, thinking, ‘Okay, maybe this week I will do this and then the following week I’ll finally get to showcase what I can do and maybe have like a contenders match or something.’ And I was just crawling, clawing, and itching my way to the top thinking, ‘What more can I do?’” [H/T Ringside News]

Former WWE star Ash by Elegance was forced to retire due to a medical mystery

Ash by Elegance had worked so hard and finally won the Knockouts World Title last year. However, her title reign was unfortunately cut short at Victory Road 2025 since she had to vacate the belt due to an undisclosed reason. She even announced her retirement from professional wrestling.

During the same podcast episode, the former WWE star said that she has been dealing with some health issues, but she didn’t have a solid diagnosis. She also revealed that she spent several days in the ICU due to this medical mystery. She was also informed by the doctors that she would never be able to wrestle again, which forced her into retirement.

“So it’s definitely a health issue, everything that I’m going through. I had mentioned once I have a solid diagnosis, like it’s my issue is it’s weird. They call it like a medical mystery. I’ve done so many things. I spent numerous days in the ICU that nobody really knows about because I haven’t put that out there yet until I honestly can find out really what this is, which we’re towards like we’re on a good track now. It was scary.”

However, Ash by Eleganc announced earlier this year that she was medically cleared and would be making her in-ring return.
