3 moments that generated a buzz amongst followers in Match 13 ft. Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a 27-run win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in a rain-affected match at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, on Tuesday, April 7, in the ongoing IPL 2026. The game was reduced to 11 overs per side after a hailstorm.

RR were off to a flying start after being put to bat first. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi set the tone with a blazing 80-run partnership off 30 balls. Jaiswal notched up his 17th IPL half-century, remaining unbeaten on 77 off 32 balls, while Suryavanshi contributed 39 off 14 balls.

The two helped Rajasthan post 150/3 in 11 overs. Allah Ghazanfar and Shardul Thakur picked up two and one wickets, respectively. Skipper Hardik Pandya bowled a tidy spell, conceding 17 runs from two overs amid the carnage.

MI had their backs against the wall after losing three wickets within the 3.2-over powerplay. Naman Dhir and Sherfane Rutherford chipped in with cameos, but the visiting team ultimately fell short, finishing 123/9 after 11 overs. Ravi Bishnoi, Nandre Burger, and Sandeep Sharma took two wickets apiece.

RR have kicked off their IPL 2026 campaign with three consecutive wins and are currently the table-toppers. MI have lost momentum after a six-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their opening clash. With one win from three outings, they are seventh in the standings.

Here, we take a look at three moments from the contest that generated a buzz among the fans.

#3 RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s first-over takedown of Deepak Chahar

Yashasvi Jaiswal came out all guns blazing in the encounter. Deepak Chahar dished out a short ball to commence the first over. The southpaw picked the length early and dispatched it for a four with the pull shot.

Chahar changed his length, going full on the next ball. However, there was no respite as Jaiswal sent it over the mid-wicket fence for a six. The batter continued the onslaught, hitting three more fours in the remaining balls to accumulate 22 runs from the over.

#2 Dhruv Jurel takes stunning catch to dismiss Ryan Rickelton

MI opener Ryan Rickelton struck an authoritative six over mid-wicket off Jofra Archer in the first over of the run chase. The speedster enjoyed the last laugh, dismissing the left-handed batter on the very next ball.

Rickelton went for another big hit on the leg side. However, he ended up top-edging it high in the air. Wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel ran back to get under the ball and completed a well-judged catch, ending the batter’s knock on eight off four balls.

#1 Vaibhav Suryavanshi comes out on top in mini-battle with Jasprit Bumrah

15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi faced ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah for the first time in his IPL career. The youngster showed no sign of pressure as he welcomed the star bowler into the attack with a six over the long-on boundary.

Bumrah just smiled after seeing the shot as he turned and walked back to his bowling mark. Suryavanshi continued the fearless approach and smashed another six in the same over, clearing the deep square-leg fence with the pull shot.
