CM Punk disclosed the one thing that made him return to WWE. The World Heavyweight Champion returned to the promotion at Survivor Series 2023 after his tumultuous exit from All Elite Wrestling.
Speaking on WWE Now, CM Punk revealed that he likely would not have decided to return to the company if he had main-evented WrestleMania in the past. He added that he wouldn’t have known the reason for his return if he had already headlined The Show of Shows.
Thanks for the submission!
“If I main evented WrestleMania before I left, I don’t think I would have come back because I would have done it. What am I coming back for?” he said.
The Second City Saint then spoke about standing in the ring alone after headlining WrestleMania and suggested that he would have been at peace if that had been the end of his career.
“That moment was just me standing in the ring after the fact. I didn’t win, and it’s far beyond being about that, and I was just standing in the ring by myself, and I was just looking at like all four sides of the crowd and like people. I could tell there’s people from numerous different countries, and I’m just kind of like looking around all four sides, just like soaking it in. Well, if this is the last time I’m ever going to be in a ring. I did it,” he added. [H/T: Fightful on X]

WWE star CM Punk shares why he became straight edge
WWE RAW star CM Punk disclosed why he chose to stay away from drugs and alcohol and live a straight-edge lifestyle.
Speaking on the Ross Tucker Football Podcast, the former AEW star shared that he watched his father drink all the time, and his friends get messed up on drugs, and it didn’t interest him at all.
“Watching my dad drink a 30-pack of Old Style (beer) a day, friends do drugs and get messed up, and like it didn’t look like fun, right? It really didn’t. I didn’t understand. It was just like you’re having fun for what, two, three hours and then you’re miserable for like 16, 18 hours? Like okay, not for me,” said CM Punk.
It will be fascinating to see if CM Punk can defeat Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 42 to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
