Sienna and Lauren Betts are like two peas in a pod. The sisters both won the 2026 national championship with the UCLA Bruins, with Lauren taking home tournament MVP honors.
Lauren Betts is now gearing up for the 2026 WNBA draft. At a press conference on Sunday, a reporter asked how crazy it would be to win a WNBA championship with her sister, Sienna.
“Oh my gosh, I mean, listen. That would be unbelievable, but I feel she’s my good luck charm at this point, so she has to join whatever team I’m on, Betts said.
“Has she been with you in New York this week?” The reporter probed further.
“She’s at Coachella right now, if I’m being completely honest. She’s missing out on Sunday. She’s making a really big sacrifice, missing Sunday, so she can join her big sister in the draft. That’s what she’s doing.”
Sienna and Lauren Betts played together at Grandview High School, winning a state championship during Sienna’s freshman year and Lauren’s senior year. They ran it back a few years later when Sienna joined Lauren at UCLA.
For the 2025-26 season, Lauren led the Bruins in most statistical categories as their star center. Sienna played her part as a freshman with the duo occasionally forming a double big lineup.
Lauren Betts is projected as a Top 5 pick
Lauren Betts spent her entire collegiate basketball career with the UCLA Bruins. She enjoyed a storybook ending as the Bruins beat the South Carolina Gamecocks 79-51 to win the 2026 national championship.
Next up for Betts is the WNBA, where he’s widely projected to be a Top 5 pick. There are at least two major mock drafts that have her going as high as No. 3.
According to USA Today, Betts might be heading to Minnesota to join the Lynx. The mock draft pointed out that Minnesota losing Alanna Smith and Jessica Shepard might prompt them to select Betts. She’ll provide instant rebounding, scoring, and shot blocking to the franchise.
Sporting News also has the Lynx picking Betts with their No. 2 pick. The departures of Jessica Shepard and reigning co-Defensive Player of the Year Alanna Smith were cited as reasons for the potential decision of selecting the UCLA icon.
ESPN and Tankathon have Betts joining the Washington Mystics with the fourth pick
