SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Praful Hinge announced himself in sensational fashion. The right-arm fast bowler made his debut in the team’s home match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, on Monday, April 13.
RR were required to chase a 217-run target. Hinge ripped through the side’s batting lineup with a fiery new-ball spell. The 24-year-old struck on the second ball of his first over, dismissing the in-form Vaibhav Suryavanshi for a golden duck.
Hinge went on to take the wickets of Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius for ducks in the same over. He became the first-ever bowler to take three wickets in an opening over of an innings in the league’s history.
The seamer provided yet another breakthrough, sending RR skipper Riyan Parag (4 off 6) back in the following over. The bowler earned widespread praise on social media following his dream debut.

While Praful Hinge picked up four wickets with the new ball, another debutant Sakib Hussain bagged one scalp in the powerplay. RR were reeling at 40/6 after six overs in the chase. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan‘s blistering 91-run knock off 44 balls helped SRH post an impressive total in the contest.
