“What do you think the odds are”: Howie Roseman doesn’t mince phrases on A.J. Brown commerce as Eagles WR weighs future in Philly

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman maintained his stance on A.J. Brown’s status with the organization amid recent additions to the wide receivers room.

The Eagles recently acquired Dontayvion Wicks in a trade with the Green Bay Packers, raising further questions on Brown’s future with the team.

Roseman responded to the questions during a pre-draft press conference on Tuesday.

“What do you think the odds are that I’m answering this question any different than I’ve answered anywhere else?” Roseman asked reporters. “Like really, do you think that’s 50%? Do you think that’s 75%?

“A.J. Brown is an Eagle,” he concluded.

A.J. Brown has been a subject of trade speculation this offseason after a difficult 2025 season. Philadelphia has fueled the speculations as they keep populating its receiver corps, signing veterans Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore to one-year deals in free agency.

The Eagles sent a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-rounder to the Packers in exchange for Wicks. They have subsequently given a one-year, $12.5 million extension to the 24-year-old. Meanwhile, with the NFL Draft just over a week away, Brown’s future with the Eagles is under renewed scrutiny.

Looking back at A.J. Brown’s difficult season

Brown is one of the top receivers in the NFL. However, he is coming off a difficult season where he recorded a career-low 12.9 yards per catch. He also posted 1,003 receiving yards, which is his lowest in four years with the Eagles.

The season also witnessed Brown express his frustration with the Eagles’ offense during a video game livestream in November.

“If we’re really focusing on winning and doing our job, we can’t just keep slapping a Band-Aid over the defense doing their job and getting us out of trouble,” he said. “At what point are we going to pick up our slack as an offense?”

Another sign of trouble showed when the receiver and the Eagles coach Nick Sirianni screamed at each other during the team’s first-round playoff loss.

“I think he knows how I feel about him,” Sirianni said about Brown after the pair went off at each other in the playoff loss to the 49ers. “I have a special relationship with him. … We’re both emotional. I was trying to get him off the field, and that happens in this game. But I love him.”

A.J. Brown joined the Eagles in 2022 on a four-year, $100 million deal.
