Former AEW star and champion Saraya just made her return to WWE at WrestleMania 42. Her success at the Showcase of The Immortals, taken together with her prior triumphs in the Tony Khan-led promotion, has earned the multi-time champion a unique distinction.
Earlier this year, Saraya began training for a prospective in-ring return, which immediately sparked speculations of a WWE comeback. Although she missed out on the 2026 Royal Rumble, as well as the Elimination Chamber PLE, rumors began circulating lately that the Anti-Diva had signed a new multi-year contract with the sports entertainment juggernaut, indicating the possibility of a WrestleMania 42 appearance. The Englishwoman did indeed make her return at The Show of Shows, replacing the injured Nikki Bella to team with her sister Brie.
Paige and Bella proceeded to win their match, a fatal-four way bout for the Women’s Tag Team Titles, earning The Diva of Tomorrow gold in her very first match back. Fans on social media have now pointed out the fact that the former All Elite Wrestling name holds the unique distinction of having won major championships on the biggest shows produced by both WWE and AEW. The Unproblematic Icon did secure the AEW Women’s World Championship on her home soil at All In: London 2023 in front of over seventy thousand viewers.
Paige, who had made her All Elite Wrestling debut as Saraya back in 2022, announced her departure from the Jacksonville-based promotion in March last year.
AEW’s Britt Baker reacted to Saraya’s WWE return
Saraya’s first proper feud in AEW after her 2022 debut pitted her against former Women’s Champion Britt Baker. The former Norfolk Doll battled and beat The DMD at Full Gear 2022 in her first singles match since 2017. They shared the ring five more times since then in various tag team and multi-person bouts.
Although Baker has been on hiatus from All Elite Wrestling programming since the end of 2024, she did not take long to reach out to Saraya following her WWE return as Paige on WrestleMania Saturday, reacting to her comeback with a star emoji.
“🌟,” wrote Baker.
It remains to be seen what lies next for Paige moving forward on WWE programming.
