Trick Williams shared an emotional moment with his family after winning the United States Championship at WrestleMania 42. Sami Zayn was distraught after the loss.
It’s been a few weeks since Trick Williams moved up to the main roster from NXT. He has already been a regular feature on WWE TV and has also gotten over with the fans. Therefore, he earned himself a United States Championship opportunity at WrestleMania 42. In the lead-up to the match, Williams was on the receiving end of cheers from the crowd while Sami Zayn was getting booed by the fans. Trick also had Lil Yachty by his side in recent weeks.
Thanks for the submission!
Tonight at WrestleMania 42, Sami Zayn defended the United States Championship against Trick Williams. The former TNA World Champion was able to defeat Sami with the Trick Shot and win the title. Following the match, Trick went out of the ring and hugged his family, who were at ringside. This was an out-of-character moment for him since he is supposed to be a heel. The camera then cut to Sami Zayn, who looked distraught after losing his title.
Trick Williams talked about his rise in WWE
Trick Williams has quickly become one of the fastest-rising stars in WWE. Apart from Oba Femi, he is the only other NXT star who has gotten over with the fans immediately after being called up to the main roster in the past few months.
During a recent appearance on the Pivot Podcast, Williams said he had to face many challenges before he could get to where he is today. He wants to become the greatest WWE Superstar of all time.
“I had to go through the fire to be exactly who I was supposed to be. Some guys are really good at being a stunt double. I ain’t no stunt double, I’m a superstar. Tomorrow is not promised, bro. So right now, everything. I’m throwing my best work at the wall every single time. I want them to say, like, this is the greatest WWE Superstar of all time.”
It remains to be seen whether Sami will get a rematch against Trick.
