Free agent Jimmy Garoppolo is considering retirement from the NFL after 12 seasons, according to reports. The 34-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, filling the backup role to Matthew Stafford.
Garoppolo, along with Kirk Cousins, was named by the Rams coach Sean McVay as a candidate to back up Stafford next season. With Cousins having signed with the Las Vegas Raiders after McVay’s statement at the NFL’s annual meeting last month, Garoppolo is also on his way out.

What did Dianna Russini say about Jimmy Garoppolo in the viral video?
The viral video of Dianna Russini talking about Jimmy Garoppolo is from an interview on “The Dan Le Batard Show.” She stated on the show that she interviewed Garoppolo the night before her wedding, when the quarterback was still with the San Francisco 49ers.
“That’s when you guys and men propose, that’s their wedding day,” she said. “That’s when you guys are all-in. It’s not really all-in for us yet. I think for women, the actual wedding day is the moment… I was the one that was very sceptical.”
Garoppolo went on to ask her about her upcoming wedding, wondering if she should be conducting the interview on the eve of her wedding.
“The one guy…my mom wanted to marry…was Jimmy Garoppolo,” she added. “And he’s calling me…this is a sign. I, of course, did not marry Jimmy Garoppolo.”
Garoppolo has played in 85 games over 12 seasons, completing 67.4% of his passes for 15,828 yards, 96 touchdowns, and 52 interceptions. He was drafted in 2014 by the Patriots to serve as Tom Brady’s backup.
