GTA Online background replace patches Speedo Custom god mode and Facility heist cash glitch

A new GTA Online background update has rolled out across public lobbies, and unlike standard title updates, this one requires no download or installation on the player’s end. Details were shared by trusted industry insider Tex2 (formerly known as Tez2) on X, and the patch covers a handful of issues that players have been exploiting for a while now.

This article breaks down what the new GTA Online background update changed.

Rockstar fixes Speedo Custom God mode and Facility Heist money glitch in latest GTA Online background update

According to what Tex2 flagged on X, this update focused on three specific issues: a Stoner Survival movement bug, the long-running Speedo Custom god mode exploit, and the Facility Heist money glitch.

Each one has been a topic in the community for different reasons, and all three are now reportedly addressed.

Stoner Survival movement bug now fixed

In this bug, players used to lose the ability to jump or climb entirely post-exiting the Stoner Survival mode, which is the new activity added as part of the 420 Event running until April 29, 2026. The current GTA Online background update completely fixes that.

Speedo Custom God mode glitch gets patched again

The Speedo Custom god mode is one of those exploits that keeps coming back after patches, which tells you how deeply baked into the game’s mechanics the underlying issue is. The glitch makes the Nightclub delivery van completely indestructible, which obviously causes problems in sessions where other players are involved or where the intended risk of delivery missions is bypassed entirely.

The method that was being used involved heading to the B1 level of the garage, modifying the Speedo Custom, hovering over the Exit Garage option, and then spamming the home button while exiting. That specific timing sequence was what triggered the invincibility state.

Rockstar has now patched this workaround. Whether it resurfaces in a new form after the next title update remains to be seen (given its history), but for now, the exploit is closed.

Facility Heist Money glitch has also been addressed

The Facility Heist money glitch was a more involved exploit that targeted the Doomsday Heist Act 3 finale. The way it worked was that associates could repeatedly replay the finale and collect around $3.3 million per run, while the host kept the finale in a ready state between attempts.

The setup required using Dispatch VI in an invite-only session and timing specific targeting mode alerts to desync the game in a way that allowed the replay to register without the host losing progress.

Rockstar has now patched this workaround as part of the GTA Online background update, closing off what was one of the more lucrative exploits currently in circulation.

That’s everything on the GTA Online background update. You can also check out the weekly update schedule, which runs till April 22, 2026.
