4 WWE champions who have to lose their titles ASAP

WWE WrestleMania 42 featured several new champions being crowned, with both the men’s and women’s world titles on RAW changing hands. Elsewhere, Trick Williams dethroned Sami Zayn to win the United States Championship while Becky Lynch regained the Women’s Intercontinental Championship by defeating AJ Lee.

On SmackDown after WrestleMania 42, Tiffany Stratton defeated Giulia to win the Women’s United States Championship for the first time. However, despite all the title changes, some championships need to be put on new faces.

As a result, here are four WWE champions who needs to lose their titles as soon as possible.

#4. The Vision needs to drop the World Tag Team Championship

Paul Heyman had asked Austin Theory and Logan Paul to go out and win the World Tag Team Championship from The Usos to gain leverage. It took them two tries, but they did just that.

However, the tag team division on RAW has remained non-existent for the most part. The Vision didn’t even put their titles on the line at WrestleMania 42 against The Usos, as they were involved in a six-man tag team match instead.

Paul and Theory’s title reign hasn’t done much to elevate them, and their stock wouldn’t really drop without the titles either. The best candidates to dethrone them returned to television last week after six months away.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins returned to help Seth Rollins as he was being beaten down by Logan Paul and Austin Theory. In the process, they also put the World Tag Team Champions on notice, and it seems like they could be in store for a title run as well. Perhaps putting the titles on the Street Profits could lead to the revival of the tag team division on the red brand, especially if the Profits exit the feud with The Vision right after winning the gold.

#3. Damian Priest and R-Truth have to drop the WWE Tag Team Championship soon

Damian Priest and R-Truth defeated the MFTs on the March 20, episode of SmackDown to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. The two have formed a fan-favorite partnership and have been champions for over a month now.

In that time, they have already defended the titles thrice against Kit Wilson and The Miz, The New Day and the MFTs. However, Priest and R-Truth shouldn’t have a very long run with the championship. Instead, they should be dethroned by a team that will actually be able to revive the tag division on the blue brand.

Following the departure of the Motor City Machine Guns, the team that makes most sense as the new champions is Fraxiom. They have been booked frequently on SmackDown, and a WWE Tag Team Championship run is long overdue. Truth and Priest could be dethroned by the former NXT stars within the coming weeks, potentially leading to the revival of the tag division in some capacity.

#2. Becky Lynch should not have a long run with the Women’s Intercontinental Championship

Becky Lynch dethroned AJ Lee at WrestleMania 42 to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship for a third time in her career. The Man overcame all the odds, including referee Jessika Carr to win the title at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

However, she should not have another long run with the championship this year. Lynch is far too established to hold on to the mid-card title for this long, and it could be argued that the value of the Intercontinental Championship has also reached a peak where it can be passed on to someone else.

As a result, Lynch should lose the title to a babyface such as Sol Ruca, Bayley or Lyra Valkyria. The timing is right for the title to have a sudden change, and for Lynch to enter a new feud, potentially for the Women’s World Championship or have a personal feud of some sort without the title involved.

#1. Cody Rhodes should drop the Undisputed WWE Championship

Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton‘s feud for the Undisputed WWE Championship turned into Rhodes vs. TKO, and the same was alluded to on last week’s episode of SmackDown. The QB1 of WWE retained his championship against Orton in the main event of WrestleMania 42 Night One, in what was an extremely scrappy match.

The fans were already lacking interest because of the involvement of Jelly Roll and Pat McAfee. With the crowd also not firmly on Rhodes’ side, it was quite deflating that the championship didn’t change hands on the night.

The fans have not once bought into Rhodes’ third reign as the Undisputed WWE Champion, and the best way to solve the problem would be for him to drop it. Perhaps Randy Orton could finally be booked to win his 15th world championship by defeating his former Legacy teammate, changing the landscape of the world title picture on SmackDown for the foreseeable future.
