Huge CM Punk Announcement Amid WWE Absence

CM Punk is one of WWE’s top talents. He makes regular appearances on the company’s flagship show and tries to bring in more eyes to the product.

However, The Best in the World is popular outside WWE as well.

On May 4th, 2026, Jon Stewart announced that CM Punk would be a part of the guest list for the Night Of Too Many Stars event on May 7th, 2026. The event will emanate from Hollywood Festival as a part of the Netflix Is A Joke festival.

Other names attending it are Adam Sandler, Jimmy Kimmel, John Mulaney, and Steve Carell, among others.

CM Punk might soon pursue projects outside WWE

As a former World Heavyweight Champion, The Best in the World is almost always in the title picture. Roman Reigns dethroned him at WrestleMania 42, and he indicated that he set his sights on Cody Rhodes. However, the duo remains strong allies in WWE.

As per new reports, Netflix is interested in working with CM Punk and Liv Morgan. The OTT giant wants to collaborate with the two WWE superstars and have them in more movies. So far, this is the only announcement. Netflix has yet to announce the movies or collaborations it will work on with The Best in the World and The Miracle Kid.

Currently, Liv Morgan is the Women’s World Champion. She dethroned Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42. On the other hand, Punk lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at The Show of Shows.

Punk hasn’t been on the flagship either. Before his absence, he teased moving over to SmackDown to challenge Cody Rhodes. Amid his ongoing absence, it has been speculated that Punk will not be a part of WWE Backlash. He might return to WWE TV after the premium live event, after the winner of Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu is finalized.
