48-year-old star has formally retired from WWE, says Paul Heyman

A 48-year-old star has officially retired from WWE, according to Paul Heyman. Since last year, quite a few notable names have called it a day as far as their in-ring career goes.

Fans have seen Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles retire in quick succession. But perhaps the most shocking retirement came at WrestleMania 42, when Brock Lesnar decided to retire.

After losing to Oba Femi in Las Vegas, The Beast took off his gloves and boots, signaling his retirement. Lesnar soaked in the adulation from the live audience and shared a hug with Heyman as he bid goodbye to the fans.

Since then, there has been a lot of speculation about whether The Conqueror is truly done with wrestling or will make a return down the line. However, speaking on ESPN Get Up, Paul Heyman confirmed Lesnar’s retirement.

The Oracle was asked what to expect from the match between Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins at Backlash. Heyman replied that fans will see Breakker being the most physical athlete since his former client’s retirement.

“What can you expect from Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins? You can see Bron Breakker be the most physical athlete inside the ring in WWE since the retirement of Brock Lesnar,” he said.

Heyman’s comment effectively confirms that Brock Lesnar is done with wrestling.

Paul Heyman’s possible favor to Gunther revealed

During the buildup to WrestleMania 42, Seth Rollins targeted Paul Heyman over his betrayal in The Vision. However, Rollins was attacked by Gunther on an episode of RAW, which surprised many fans.

Later, The Ring General revealed that he was doing this for Heyman and said the legendary manager owed him a favor.

It was speculated that the favor could be a future match against Brock Lesnar. But with The Beast’s retirement, that might not be the case. Instead, it is possible that the favor could be a shot for the WWE Undisputed Championship.

Last week on SmackDown, Gunther attacked Cody Rhodes and laid him out before lifting the WWE Championship. This means he has his eyes on the prize, and it may have something to do with Paul Heyman. Earlier, in a backstage segment on the show between Fraxiom and R-Truth, Heyman was seen talking to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis.
