A fan said, “better than the super bowl performance.”
Another added, “Take back was so fast… didn’t pause at the top so transfer was quick. Didn’t have time for hips to turn first. Only bring critical because he’s an ELITE athlete and can easily fix this.”
One wrote, “We gotta work on the lower half movement on the take back. Not the smoothest execution. But good contact is really all that matters.”
Some weren’t as critical.
One said, “Is there anything this guy can’t do. My lord.”
Another wrote, “So pure Drake Maye.”
One chimed in, saying, “The Best in every thing he does.”
According to Yahoo Sports, Drake Maye was stopped for an interview with AP and spoke about embattled coach Mike Vrabel. The Patriots quarterback was effusive in his praise for the two-time AP Coach of the Year.
“I mean, he’s our head coach. I think he’s done a great job of talking to us and talking us through it. I’m just looking forward to getting back to work and getting ready,” said Maye.
Vrabel has been in the middle of a media storm since the New York Post published photos of him last month with Dianna Russini at an Arizona resort. Vrabel has since missed the third day of the 2026 NFL draft to attend counseling. He’s addressed the team on the matter numerous times.
Drake Maye had a phenomenal 2025 season
Drake Maye nearly had the perfect sophomore season. The former North Carolina Tar Heels standout posted a stat line of 4,394 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions and finished second in MVP voting behind Los Angeles Rams superstar Matthew Stafford.
Maye then helped the Patriots win playoff games against the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans, and Denver Broncos to secure their spot in Super Bowl LX. The Mike Vrabel-coached team were slated to face the Seattle Seahawks.
However, Maye and Co. could do little as the Seahawks romped to a 29-13 win. The Sam Darnold-led team won their first Vince Lombardi Trophy since 2014, and extended the Patriots’ drought to six seasons.
It was a successful individual season for Maye and a lot of his teammates. However, their failure to win the big game leaves some unfinished business. They’ll look to finish off the job in the 2026 season.
