Popular AEW star Tommaso Ciampa is celebrating his birthday this week. The company shared warm birthday wishes for the former NXT Champion on social media.
“The Psycho Killer” made an immediate impact after joining AEW earlier this year. He made a shocking appearance on the January 28 edition of Dynamite. This came just days after he announced his departure from WWE after working with the company for over a decade. He won the TNT Championship in his first match for the company, defeating Jay Briscoe in an Open Challenge. Since then, he has become a prominent star on the roster, bringing his dark energy and intensity to the promotion.
This week, AEW took to social media to publicly wish Tommaso Ciampa a happy birthday. The company posted a stylized graphic of the star in his signature jacket and trunks on their official Twitter handle and other social media platforms. Ciampa was born on May 8, 1985, in Boston, Massachusetts. The star is a wrestling veteran and was trained by the legendary Harley Race and Killer Kowalski. Several fans also joined the bandwagon, wishing the former TNT champion a happy birthday on social media.
Tommaso Ciampa battled for the AEW World Championship
After a decade in WWE, Tommaso Ciampa finally parted ways with the company earlier this year. Since then, he has become a formidable competitor in AEW. The star has had some stellar matches in the company, including a high-stakes showdown with AEW World Champion Darby Allin on the April 22 edition of Dynamite.
Allin won the title from MJF and made it clear that he would defend the gold until his body gave out. Tommaso Ciampa emerged as the first challenger for Darby. The two stars battled it out in a high-intensity showdown. The match turned out to be a five-star classic as the two competitors gave it their all with the fate of the AEW Championship hanging in the balance. Finally, Allin caught his opponent in the Scorpion Death Lock for the win. In the aftermath of the encounter, the two stars shook hands in a moment of mutual respect.
