On May 8, 2026, (local time) BTS attended a live Lucha Libre wrestling event during their stay in Mexico City. The group’s appearance quickly gained attention online after videos and photos from the match circulated widely across social media platforms.
During the event, wrestler Místico entered the arena wearing a jacket featuring BTS-inspired details, including the group’s emblem and the members’ names written across the outfit. Members Jin, Suga, Jimin, and Jungkook were seen seated near the ring while wearing traditional wrestling masks and cheering for Místico throughout the match.
Clips from the event especially drew attention for the members’ reactions during several intense moments in the match. Fans highlighted how the BTS members visibly reacted whenever Místico received heavy blows inside and outside the ring.
One moment that spread rapidly online showed the wrestler being pushed on the audience barricade near the BTS members before falling close to where they were seated. The members immediately reacted in surprise and appeared to help steady him as the action continued nearby.
Among the reactions that went viral, Jin’s expressions became a major talking point online. Viewers noted how he repeatedly flinched and leaned back whenever punches landed near him, withone fan jokingly commenting,
“The way seokjin keeps reacting to every single punch I CAN’T PLEASE PROTECT HIM”
Jin’s startled reactions throughout the match quickly became a viral topic online, with fans joking that his constant ducking and shocked expressions had them laughing hard, especially when Místico nearly fell onto his lap during the fight.
The event also sparked humorous reactions from fans due to the contrast between BTS’ recent public appearances in Mexico. Just two days earlier, on May 6, the group had visited the National Palace and met with Mexico’s president during an official engagement. The shift from a formal political meeting to attending a lively wrestling match quickly became a trending topic among fans online, with many commenting on the unexpected contrast between the two appearances.
