Retired seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady embraced his comedic side on Sunday. The former New England Patriots quarterback was brought in as a special guest on Kevin Hart’s Netflix show “The Roast of Kevin Hart.’
Brady showed up wearing an all-black outfit for the event. He did not shy away from brutally roasting Hart. He took shots at the fact that the comedian’s dad was absent from his life.

“Have you even left the Forum?” Brady said. “Or have you just been here screaming into that light for the last two years, waiting for daddy to come home. Well, unlike your real dad, I actually showed up. And I brought you a jersey.”

Hart’s dad, Henry Witherspoon, passed away at the age of 73 in 2022. In 2007, he lost his mother to ovarian cancer. Growing up in North Philadelphia, he had a tough upbringing.
In his 2017 memoir, Hart highlighted how his dad was not there during his childhood because of his drug addiction and jail sentences. During a 2018 interview with People, he opened up about forgiving his dad and fixing their relationship.
“Regardless of my upbringing and the way I was raised and how often he was in my life, he’s my dad,” Hart said. “I have positive outlook on life regardless and I’m going to love you because you’re my father.”
