How to play Slicer in DRG Rogue Core: Mechanics, gear, enhancements, and suggestions

If you’re new to the game and like using blades, you might be wondering how to play Slicer in DRG Rogue Core? This Reclaimer can make use of their Plasma Blade to cut through Corespawn with ease. The weapon lacks range, but it makes up for it with decent damage. Since it can be buffed using Expenite Upgrades, it’s fairly potent in combat.

This was the first Reclaimer I tried out, and let me tell you, he gets the job done. While your overall build will vary based on Bio-Boosters and other factors, the core function of Slicer is to get into the thick of it and carve up enemies to clear a path. When you’re out of bullets, the Plasma Blade becomes your best friend. That said, here’s more on how to play Slicer in DRG Rogue Core.

How to make the most of Slicer in DRG Rogue Core

Mechanics

Starting with the basics, Slicer in DRG Rogue Core has one Ability and two Class Skills. His offensive Ability, Slice, allows you to use his Plasma Sword to quite literally cut through the air. Anything foolish enough to come close to you will be cut down. With a generous recharge time of 20 seconds (at base value), you’ll be able to use it rather often. That said, I would suggest opening with this Ability before using your weapon.

Unlike Slice, the two Class Skills, Blitz and Shield Belt, are on the defensive and escapism (no, I’m talking about Raye‘s hit song) side of things. Blitz enables you to dart across a short distance, letting you get out of scraps, but it’s likely you’ll use it to get close to the enemy to use your Plasma Blade. Shield Belt, when activated, provides defensive AOE that blocks incoming ranged attacks. This will be extremely useful when having to carry Gatestones to toss into the pit.

Equipment (Primary Weapon, Traversal Tool, and Grenade)

Since equipment is based on RNG, there’s not much to say on this front, but I do have some suggestions. I highly recommend trying to acquire the “Warthog” Auto 210. It is a brilliant shotgun even without buffs, and since you’ll need to stay close to your targets to use Slice, this fits perfectly into the overall build. Of course, if the shotgun is not your preferred weapon, anything else you fancy will work just fine.

Playing Slicer in DRG Rogue Core can get a bit hairy, and as such, I would suggest you take the Zipline Launcher for getting around. This will also allow you to get to Expenite deposits that are in hard-to-reach places. This problem is omitted when playing solo, as Cooper can mine for you, but when diving with a team, being able to zip across terrain fast will prove invaluable.

If you get the option to choose Incendiary Grenade when picking your loadout, never skip out on them. Aside from toasting Corespawn to a nice crisp, they provide some light, which is useful in a firefight. They explode on impact, and unless you are fire-resistant, you should avoid the blast radius.

Enhancements

After you’ve made it out alive from your first dive as Slicer in DRG Rogue Core, you’ll be rewarded with Enhancement Chips. These can be used to unlock Enhancements. Unlike the RNG system that’s in place for most aspects of gameplay, Enhancements are chosen by you on the RV-09 Ramrod and remain in place until you switch them out.

In total, you can have eight Enhancements activated at any given time. You’ll need Merit to unlock the slot, and while this takes a few dives to achieve, it’s worth it. Once they are in place, your dives will be easier as well, since you’ll have a plethora of passive boosts active. Here are recommendations for Enhancements:

  • Resupplier: +5% Ammo from Resupplies
  • Running Blades: +5% Sprint Boost after running for 3 seconds
  • Trigger Disipline: -10% Friendly Fire Received and Dealt
  • Armour Pack: +12 Max Armour
  • Ammo Pouch: +8% Max Ammo
  • Battering Ram: +25% Amour Breaking
  • Thermal Insulation: +10% Elemental and Explosion Resistance:
  • Unstoppable: -15% on all Movement Penalties”

The aforementioned Enhancements (at base value) are curated to suit Slicer in DRG Rogue Core. Running Blades and Unstoppable work in tandem to get you close to the enemy without issue to use your Slice Ability. Since your weapon of choice will be the shotgun, it stands to reason to select Resupplier and Ammo Pouch. You will never have to worry about running out of ammo.

Playing as Slicer in DRG Rogue Core is a gentle learning curve. You don’t need to be exceptionally skilled; just be aware of your surroundings and respond to threats before they build up. Use Blitz and Slice in tandem to take out Corespawn swiftly and try to stay vigilant for ranged attackers. If you spot incoming projectiles, activate your Shield Belt and signal your Reclaimers to huddle within the AOE.

Don’t stand still, keep your eyes open, and engage targets before they get a chance to move about freely. Those are the basics when playing as Slicer in DRG Rogue Core. Remember that you are the sword and shield; strike fast and protect your own from danger.
