“What happened to Jungkook’s Instagram?”- Fans left panicked after BTS’ Idol’s 21.5M follower account disappears all of the sudden attributable to Meta error

Fans were left confused and concerned after BTS member Jungkook’s Instagram account suddenly seemingly disappeared on May 27, 2026. The unexpected issue quickly sparked panic online, with many wondering whether the singer had once again deleted or deactivated his account without warning.

Back in February 2023, Jungkook removed his original Instagram account, which had gathered nearly 52.4 million followers. The BTS member later returned to the platform with a new account in July 2025, and it rapidly crossed 21.61 million followers before the recent disappearance.

Fan’s concern spread rapidly across social media, especially on X, where “Jungkook Instagram” began trending worldwide as fans searched for answers. Since Jungkook previously stepped away from Instagram in the past, several fans initially assumed he had made the decision himself again.

However, many ARMYs soon questioned that theory due to Jungkook’s recent online activity. The BTS singer had reportedly been active on Instagram while promoting BTS’ new album ARIRANG and during the group’s ongoing tour. Fans noted that he had recently shared concert-related updates, vlogs, reposted fan edits and interacted through social media content, making the sudden disappearance appear unusual.

The situation drew further attention after Jungkook posted a TikTok story showing what appeared to be a Meta notification regarding his Instagram account. The notice stated that the account had been temporarily blocked and warned that it could be permanently deactivated if a review was not requested within 180 days.

According to the screenshot, there was an alleged violation related to Instagram’s intellectual property and trademark policies. Jungkook posted the picture adding a “?” caption to the story, which quickly fueled more discussion among fans online.

Several fan accounts on X claimed that Meta’s AI moderation system recently affected multiple verified celebrity and business accounts during a broader wave of platform-related issues. According to fans, some of those accounts were later restored after review. One fan wrote,

“what happened to jungkook’s instagram?”

what happened to jungkook’s instagram ?😟

As speculation spread, many fans suggested that the issue may have been caused by a Meta moderation error rather than Jungkook intentionally leaving Instagram again. Some fans joked that the incident brought back memories of Jungkook’s former account, abcdefghi__lmnopqrstuvwxyz, which he previously deleted. Others pleaded for his account to be restored.

🚨Jungkook’s Instagram account with over 21 million followers has suddenly disappeared, allegedly due to a platform error managed by Meta. Similar incidents have also recently happened to many public figures. @Meta @instagram @bts_bighit @BIGHIT_MUSIC Please review and resolve

getting ptsd from abcdefghi__lmnopqrstuvwxyz… jungkook say sike.

Y’all give my boy his reels and reposts back 🫵🏼

Later, the idol’s Instagram account became visible again, though online discussions around the sudden disappearance continued. Some speculated that Meta’s system may have mistakenly flagged Jungkook’s real account instead of verified impersonator accounts, with several fans criticizing Instagram for targeting the BTS singer rather than fake profiles.

goat is back, instagram you better behave now.

jungkook instagram account apparently got locked because of copyright, it’s because there are accounts with blue tick impersonating as jungkook and meta ai mistakenly deactivated jungkook’s account instead of them, can we report it to instagram??

you’re telling me meta ai blocked the real jungkook acc instead of taking down those impersonation accs? 😭

@instagram do your f***ing job and get those impersonators instead of Jungkook. You have one job and DO IT PROPERLY
