NASCAR has indefinitely suspended a senior employee from 23XI Racing, a team co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan and current Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin, following a serious criminal charge in North Carolina.
According to NASCAR insider Jonathan Fjeld, the record from Cabarrus County says that 23XI Racing senior account manager Evanna Howell was arrested on May 23 around 1:45 pm ET and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. The charge stems from an alleged incident involving a golf cart and a 77-year-old man.
Thanks for the submission!
Taking to X, Fjeld reported:
“NASCAR indefinitely suspended Evanna Howell, the senior account manager at 23XI Racing, for violating rulebook section 4.4.A. She was charged May 23 with assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, records show.”

Additional details surrounding the incident, including the condition of the victim and the circumstances leading up to the alleged altercation, have not yet been publicly released.
According to WCNC Charlotte, Howell was released from custody after posting a $125,000 charge, but she will appear in court on June 16.
At the time of writing, neither 23XI Racing nor Howell has publicly commented on the matter.
“Just gutted we didn’t see the race end”: 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick expressed disappointment after missing the Coca-Cola 600 win

Tyler Reddick, the driver of the #45 23XI Racing Toyota, finished fourth in last weekend’s rain-shortened Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The #45 driver started on pole and was one of the most dominant drivers of the night, leading a race-high 119 laps and executing a breathtaking 3-wide pass for the lead. However, late cautions and a rainstorm ended the race early before 27 laps, resulting in a fourth-place finish.
After the race, Reddick expressed his disappointment at missing out on a prestigious Coca-Cola 600 victory and said:
“It was much more of a clean race, but man, I just didn’t have a couple of good restarts at the end. Just gutted. I want to win this race so bad for this team. One of the biggest races we have on our schedule. I really want to win it. Yes, it is a good points day, but there are a couple of the schedule that it is not about the points – winning Crown Jewels. Just gutted we didn’t see the race end.
Tyler Reddick currently leads the NASCAR Cup Series points table with 122 points.
