During the interview, Trump accused major news organizations of bias. He also targeted Welker after she repeatedly challenged the president to give evidence for his claims about election fraud.
“They are crooked, just like you are crooked. Your press is crooked and ‘Meet the Press’ is crooked,” Trump told Welker.
Welker reacted, saying, “To be fair, I’m not crooked….”
Trump replied,
“Really? Well, you play right into their hands then. You are either crooked or you are stupid.”
Trump then ended the interview.
“Let’s call it quits because I have had enough,” he said. “Thank you, darling. Have a good time.”
Welker said that she and her team had come all the way to Wisconsin for the interview.
Trump replied that he had already spent a lot of time talking with her, even in the rain. He also criticized the media, saying, “A country can never be great with a dishonest press.”
The discussion became more heated when Donald Trump said that both the 2020 presidential election and the June 2026 California governor’s race were “rigged.”
He was talking about how votes were still being counted several days after Election Day.
Welker then explained that this is normal in California. Under state law, mail-in ballots that are postmarked by Election Day can still be received and counted during the following week.
Donald Trump praised New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart
On May 22, Jaxson Dart attended an event for Republican Rep. Mike Lawler at Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York. At the event, Dart went on stage and introduced Donald Trump. He also asked the crowd to chant, “Go Big Blue.”
A week later, on May 29, Dart released a statement explaining why he attended. Dart called it a “unique opportunity” to introduce a sitting president.
The next day, Donald Trump responded to the controversy on Truth Social dragging his girlfriend, Marissa Ayers.
“I know you’re taking some heat from the Radical Left Lunatics who are jealous of you, me, and everyone who surrounds us,” Trump wrote. He also congratulated Dart on his success and said, “YOU ARE A WINNER — THEY ARE ALL LOSERS … I’ll see you in the White House!”
Jaxson Dart is currently heading into his second year in the NFL.
He was selected by the Giants in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss. After starting his 2025 rookie season as the backup to Russell Wilson, he took over the starting job in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers and went on to start 12 games.
