“You can’t fix stupid” – Fans in shock after Jazz Chisholm Jr. refuses to ‘put on a cup’ even after brutal groin damage vs White Sox

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. suffered an injury scare during Thursday’s game against the Chicago White Sox after a foul ball struck him in the groin.

Chisholm exited the game after being hit in the groin area on Thursday. Although the All-Star infielder revealed the pain level was “like a million,” he refuses to wear a cup to protect his groin region.

“I’m not going to change,” Chisholm said. “That was just an unlucky instance right there. I’ve never had a reason to wear one. Now I have a reason to wear one — but that doesn’t mean I’m going to wear one.”

MLB fans reacted to the Yankees infielder’s defiance despite the injury scare on Thursday.

“Big Jazz fan, but you can’t fix stupid.”

Chisholm admitted that he has never won a cup during his professional career and said he “trusts his hands” like Hall of Famer Adrian Beltre, who famously never wore a protective cup during his career.

“I’m just not a cup guy,” he said. “If you don’t trust your hands, I recommend you wear a cup.”

Yankees manager Aaron Boone reflects on Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s decision to not wearing a cup

Jazz Chisholm Jr. returned to the lineup on Friday and made an instant impact by smashing his 11th home run of the season as the Yankees registered a 5-0 win against the Cincinnati Reds.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone ruled out cup checks for his players after Chisholm refused to wear one despite his Injury scare on Thursday. However, Boone revealed he always wore a cup during his playing days.

“In December, going to hit soft toss, I’d put a cup on,” Boone said. “That’s the difference between this generation and my generation. I did nothing without a cup, baseball-related. The first time I heard Adrian Beltré didn’t wear a cup at third, it blew my mind. Now I know a lot of these guys don’t wear cups.”
