“Every rumour is true” – Akriti Agarwal posts cryptic story months after egagement with Prithvi Shaw

Cricketer Prithvi Shaw‘s fiancée posted a cryptic story on her Instagram handle months after their engagement. Shaw and Akriti, a social media influencer and actress, got engaged on March 8, 2026.

In a recent story, she mentioned being cheated on multiple times. She also added that every rumour and thing seen on social media was true about ‘him’. However, she did not mention Prithvi Shaw’s name in the post.

“I got cheated so many times, yet I never said a word. Still can’t believe that after taking one step ahead… Everything is true every rumours is true. What you see on social media about him,” she wrote.

While the story appears to be deleted from her Instagram handle, below is the post she made, tweeted by a user on X.

Prithvi Shaw had announced the engagement with a series of pictures on his Instagram handle.

“From sixes on the field to a lifetime of hits off it. She’s is my perfect innings!🏆❤️ #justengaged,” had captioned the post.

The story has sparked debate on her relationship with Shaw. Akriti was his long-time girlfriend, and it has been only about four months since their engagement.

Prithvi Shaw did not play a single game in IPL 2026

After being unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, Prithvi Shaw returned to the league in the 2026 season. He was picked by his former franchise, Delhi Capitals (DC), for ₹75 lakh, albeit in the accelerated round.

However, his comeback was limited to the bench, as the right-hander did not feature in a single game throughout the season. With DC struggling to find the right combination at the top, they tried the likes of Pathum Nissanka and Sahil Parakh, handing them debuts, but chose to ignore Shaw.

He began his IPL journey with DC in 2018 when he was picked for ₹1.2 crore. His best season came in 2021, when he made 479 runs from 15 games at an average of 31.93 and a strike rate of 159.13 with four half-centuries. Following three consecutive poor seasons from 2022 to 2024, he was released by DC ahead of the 2025 edition.
