The Colorado Rockies scored two runs on an eighth-inning bunt by Jake McCarthy and rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Dodgers on Tuesday, ending an 11-game road losing streak against Los Angeles.

McCarthy had a pair of RBIs without the aid of a hit and Michael Lorenzen gave up three runs (two earned) over six innings as Colorado won at Los Angeles for the first time since Sept. 21, 2024.

Juan Mejia (2-6) earned the victory with two scoreless innings and Jordan Romano picked up his second save for the Rockies in his third outing with the club. Romano, who has six total saves on the season, gave up a single and a walk to start the ninth inning, then retired All-Stars Shohei Ohtani, Andy Pages and Freddie Freeman in succession to end the game.

Ohtani hit the 300th home run of his career and Justin Wrobleski gave up one run over seven innings as the Dodgers lost for just the fourth time in 15 games.

Los Angeles had a rare multiple-error game with infielders Miguel Rojas and Alex Freeland both making miscues in the decisive eighth inning.

The Rockies pulled within 3-2 in the eighth on Rojas’ fielding error on Tyler Freeman’s grounder. An even bigger break came in the same frame when Colorado had runners on the corners. McCarthy laid down a bunt to score a run, and Freeman came home all the way from first base on Freeland’s wild throw as the Rockies took a one-run lead.

Ohtani delivered his 20th home run of the season when he lined Lorenzen’s third pitch 409 feet to center field. His 300 career home runs have come in nine seasons with the Los Angeles Angels and Dodgers.

The Dodgers made it 2-0 in the fifth when Lorenzen walked three batters, including Pages with the bases loaded.

After the Rockies scored in the sixth on a McCarthy groundout, the Dodgers added a run in the inning on an RBI single from Freeland for a 3-1 advantage.

Dodgers reliever Will Klein (3-3) was charged with three unearned runs in one-third of an inning. Evan Phillips made his first appearance of the season and threw a scoreless ninth after missing more than a year following Tommy John surgery.
