Just like the game its a remake of, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced allows players to hunt various forms of marine life with the use of harpoons. This includes hunting large sharks and whales for their skin and bones, which Edward can sell or use as resources. You can only get access to harpooning after completing the main quest Raise the Black Flag.
So in this guide we will go over everything that you need to know about harpooning in the game.
How to locate and hunt sea creatures with harpoons in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

Your first harpooning tutorial comes shortly after your start sailing after completing Raise the Black Flag and decide to go plunder a plantation with James Kidd (Mary Read). Soon you will spot a bull shark close to your ship through your spyglass. Pursue it until you see the prompt “Start Harpooning” (E on your keyboard).

Use your right mouse button to aim and your left mouse button to throw your harpoon at the bull shark. Once you start inflicting damage, a health meter for the shark will pop up on your left. You need to keep throwing harpoons until the meter is completely exhausted. However, around a third of the way in, the bull shark dives under water.

The bull shark will now try to attack your boat as a means of saving itself. You can throw a harpoon to interrupt it before it gets too close. After losing another third of its health, the shark takes another dive.

Keep in mind to not spam harpoons mindlessly as you can run out of them before killing the bull shark.

Rewards for successfully hunting the bull shark:
- 1x Bull Shark Skin
- 1x Bone

These creatures can be found on the open seas while sailing. While these are some of their more common locations, they may spawn elsewhere too.
