Sherrone Moore’s ex-mistress Paige Shiver sues Michigan over data tied to relationship with former coach: Report

Sherrone Moore’s saga has moved forward with a major update.

On Wednesday, Paige Shiver, the ex-mistress of the former Michigan Wolverines head coach, filed a lawsuit against the university, claiming that it has been withholding from her documents related to his firing in violation of the State’s Freedom of Information Act. Andrew M. Stroth, her attorney, said of the filing:

“It was important for our client to file this initial FOIA lawsuit to ensure the truth and facts come out.”

Specifically, the documents pertain to the information regarding her relationship with Moore during her time as an assistant. They also allege that she was subjected to sexism and workplace hostility.

Shiver made her first request in February 2026, which covered all the audio, video and transcripts of the conversations between her, her father, and Moore. However, the university declined, citing an ongoing investigation.

She made another request four months later, which the school denied for being “overly broad and vague”. In addition, she was also denied access to emails between Moore and athletic director Warde Manuel that included words like “affair”, which Michigan insisted was “exempt information”.

Two other times, Shiver also requested that she be allowed to see emails sent to Jenner & Block, Michigan’s legal representation, as well as recordings of meetings, but to no avail.

A recap of Sherrone Moore’s incident with Paige Shiver

On December 10, 2025, Michigan announced that it had fired Sheerone Moore after “credible evidence” had been found of him engaging in an extramarital relationship. Hours after the announcement, he was arrested in Saline, Michigan, for assault.

The victim was later identified as Paige Shiver, a staffer at Michigan and the woman he had been having an affair with. Two days after his arrest, Moore appeared in court facing counts of felonious third-degree home invasion and the misdemeanors of breaking and entering and stalking in a domestic relationship.

During that arraignment, his affair with Shiver was revealed to have lasted “a number of years” before ending on December 8. He would be released after posting a bond of $25,000.

On March 5, Moore agreed to a plea deal — in exchange for the dismissal of the original charges, he would plead no contest to the lesser misdemeanors of malicious use of a telecommunication device in a domestic relationship and trespassing. He was sentenced to 18 months’ probation and $1,000 in fines the following month.
