On Friday, Robinson came across Hart’s request to the Celtics’ X account’s admin. He shared an Instagram post featuring the news on his story with his thoughts in the caption.
“F*ck off (Josh Hart), y’all ain’t want me,” he wrote.
Mitchell Robinson played a big part in the Knicks 2026 championship run. He averaged 4.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 13.9 minutes per game during the postseason.
However, the Knicks did not extend his contract after he became a free agent. They let Robinson walk out and signed two-time All-Star Andre Drummond on the same day that Robinson signed with the Celtics.
“I banged my hand on my truck”: Mitchell Robinson uncovers the mystery behind his hand injury before the NBA Finals
Fans were concerned about the Knicks’ championship chances when Mitchell Robinson hurt his right hand before the NBA Finals series against the San Antonio Spurs. The former Knicks big man did not disclose the reason behind the injury at the time.
On Sunday, Robinson revealed the reason behind his disturbed mental health during the Finals and how he injured his hand in a Facebook post.
“Upon returning to New York, I received an unexpected phone call, and my family members contacted me, informing me that my youngest brother had been involved in a car accident,” he said.
“I did not see the messages until I arrived home late that night. As the eldest sibling, I felt a deep sense of concern, and I immediately went into panic mode. I began returning calls and texts, and when I FaceTimed my brother, I thought he was deceased. He was wearing a neck brace, unresponsive, and not speaking.”
“I broke down in tears, feeling like a failure for not being able to protect my siblings. Being 910 miles away, I felt helpless. In a moment of frustration, I banged my hand on my truck.”
Next season, Robinson will start a new chapter of his career after spending eight seasons in New York. According to Spotrac, the former Knicks big man has signed a three-year, $47,388,600 deal with the Celtics.
