Toronto Police Search For Active Shooter After 2 Killed at Street Festival

Two people were killed and at least three others injured during a shooting at a street festival in Toronto on Saturday evening, local police said.

Toronto police said that officials had received reports of a shooting at 8:12 p.m. near St. Clair Avenue West and Arlington Avenue, near a part of midtown that had been shut down for a block party for Salsa on St. Clair, a marquee event on the city’s summer calendar for the past 22 years.

Two people were pronounced dead on scene and five people were shot in total, the police said.

The police urged residents to avoid the area and follow authorities’ directions during the active shooter situation.
