“I pushed 1 time & he made $7,000”: Isaac Rochell’s spouse Allison Kuch exposes $25,000 hospital invoice for VBAC 29 months after ex-Raiders DE’s launch

Former NFL defensive end Isaac Rochell’s wife, Allison Kuch, opened up about how much it cost to give birth in the United States.

In a TikTok video, posted on Saturday, Kuch broke down the nearly $25,000 hospital bill she received after welcoming the couple’s second child.

She went through each charge on the bill after giving birth to her daughter through a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) and compared it with the cost of her first child’s planned C-section.

Kuch said the private labor and delivery room and postpartum room alone cost more than $6,400. Joking about the price, she called it the “most expensive hotel” she had ever stayed in, even though it came with an ocean view.

She also shared the costs of several medications she received during labor, including Pitocin, saline, Zofran and the drugs used for her epidural.

“Pitocin — I ended up getting three bags,” Kuch said. “$393 each. That’s $1,100 on a drug to make my contractions more painful. Beautiful. Before I got my epidural, I needed a bag of fluids: $90 for saline. And, I asked for some Zofran because my contractions were making me queasy. Honestly, I just like Zofran. Scared of throwing up. $128. Epidural medication: $158. Another mystery medicine: $136. Lidocaine with epinephrine: $134. Fentanyl: $134. All of the epidural meds together, about $560.

Kuch then questioned why the anesthesiologist’s fee was billed separately.

The biggest charge on the bill was nearly $10,000 for what the hospital called a “Vaginal Delivery Level Two.” According to Kuch, the fee covered the labor and delivery room, nurses, equipment and monitoring, not her doctor’s services.

She also pointed out smaller charges for a catheter, ibuprofen, prenatal vitamins and iron supplements, joking that she could have bought some of those medications much cheaper at CVS.

Kuch then talked about her obstetrician’s bill, saying the doctor charged $6,185 for the VBAC.

“I pushed one time, my daughter came out, and he made almost $7,000,” she said, adding that the doctor was only in the room for three minutes.

Kuch added:

“Why did I get my degree in art?”

While the total hospital and doctor’s bills came to about $25,000, Kuch said her insurance lowered the amount significantly. Insurance paid more than $13,400 toward the hospital bill and just over $4,000 toward her doctor’s bill.

In the end, Kuch said she and Isaac Rochell paid about $1,500 out of their own pocket.

She also revealed that the family is still covered by the NFL’s health insurance plan, even though Rochell was released by the Las Vegas Raiders in November 2023.

“Who am I insured by? The NFL. Still the NFL,” Kuch said. “So if you’re wondering if I do end up having the next baby, when will I have that baby? Before this insurance is up.”

Allison Kuch and Isaac Rochell’s second daughter, Pepper Jo Rochell, was born in April. Their first daughter, Scottie Bee Rochell, was born on December 9, 2023.

Isaac Rochell was released by the Las Vegas Raiders while Kuch was pregnant with Scottie Bee.

He was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

In February 2025, Isaac Rochell announced his retirement. In July 2025, he signed a ceremonial one-day contract with the Los Angeles Chargers so he could officially retire with the organization that originally drafted him and where he spent his best playing years.
