Astrologer Greenstone Lobo has backed under-fire Team India coach Gautam Gambhir to survive the tough times and deliver some big results for the country. Claiming that the former India batter has often been unfairly targeted, Lobo predicted that Gambhir still has some karmic quota left and, with some luck, can even win another big trophy.
Under Gambhir as coach, Team India have had some massive highs and shocking lows. Recently, they suffered a 0-2 T20I series loss in Ireland, which was followed by a 0-4 defeat in England in another T20I series. The two-time World Cup winner has come in for a lot of flak following the poor results.
In a video posted on TOI Sports’ YouTube channel, astrologer Lobo made a huge prediction on Gambhir’s future as Team India head coach. He commented:
“I’m feeling astrologically that whatever he’s doing is absolutely right for the country. And probably if there is some good composition, then probably we can have a very good squad, which can actually play a very important role in coming T20 World Cup. And not just that, don’t forget Olympics is also around the corner. You never know, if Gautam Gambhir is there, we can even win an Olympic gold.
“He has got the horoscope to do that. Gambhir is one man who still has some karmic remaining in this chart. He has only delivered two ICC trophies. He can deliver something more. And we could have only done it with a new captain. He has really copped a lot of criticism and he survived through that. I would say he still will manage to weather the storm. He’s going to make a comeback,” Lobo added.
While India suffered successive T20I series losses in Ireland and England, they made an impressive start in the ODI series in England, winning the first match in Birmingham by six wickets.
High and lows of Gautam Gambhir’s tenure as Team India’s head coach so far
With Gambhir as coach, Team India successfully defended their T20 World Cup crown earlier this year. They also won the Champions Trophy in the UAE in 2025 and the Asia Cup in the same year at the same venue.
On the other hand, India were whitewashed 0-3 at home by New Zealand in 2024. South Africa also beat India 2-0 in India in the Test series last year. Further, India also lost the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Very early in Gambhir’s stint as coach, India lost an ODI series to Sri Lanka after 27 years in August 2024.
