Kenny Omega and AJ Styles are longtime friends, and they have often cited each other’s role in their professional wrestling careers. While The Phenomenal One has hung up his boots from in-ring competition, The Cleaner is still wrestling in one of his final reigns as a world champion. Recently, Omega delivered a subtle reference to a famous incident with AJ during his match.
In 2016, Kenny Omega and AJ Styles teamed up to take on Shinsuke Nakamura & YOSHI-HASHI at NJPW New Year Dash. Styles and Omega emerged victorious in that showdown. But after the match, The Best Bout Machine delivered a “One Winged Angel” on The Phenomenal One from behind when he was on the turnbuckle. That moment wrote off AJ from NJPW, making Kenny the head of The Bullet Club.
At AEW Redemption, Omega did the same thing with Will Ospreay. At the end of the show, The Ariel Assassin was celebrating with the fans on the top turnbuckle. However, The Cleaner emerged from behind to lay down a “One Winged Angel” on Ospreay. The AEW World Champion made sure to follow the same sequence from 2016 to give a subtle yet powerful nod to AJ Styles.

Will Ospreay sends a message to Kenny Omega following AEW Redemption
AEW Redemption had a chaotic ending featuring Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, and Death Riders. The Ariel Assassin suffered a “One Winged Angel” at the hands of Omega to finally kick off their feud for All In. That moment left Ospreay excited to take on his good friend and bitter rival at Wembley Stadium next month.
Taking to X, the former International Champion claimed that the game is on. It was an indication that he is now also locked in for their match at All In. Until now, Ospreay was taking Omega lightly as a friend. However, The Cleaner has shot the first arrow to make it clear that this showdown will be something different.
