Manchester United will make a move for Aurélien Tchouaméni if they are given a hint of a chance, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. He claims that the Real Madrid star is their top target, and they are waiting for an opportunity.
Speaking on United Stand, Jacobs stated that Tchouaméni is the top target, but Manchester United are not working on it as things stand. He revealed that they are waiting for Real Madrid to open the door for the move and said:

“In theory, if the door opened even a tiny bit, and the price was right, Manchester United would move. In theory, Tchouaméni is the leading target! In practice, we can’t say that they’re working on it, because we have to respect the fact that there’s verbal terms on a new deal and at any moment the door could SHUT if Real Madrid choose to announce it!”
Rio Ferdinand also spoke about Tchouaméni earlier this summer, urging Manchester United to make a move. He stated that the Red Devils should be first in line to sign him up, and not let any other club get a chance and said:
“If Tchouaméni has half a sniff of getting out of that club, Man United have to be the first team at the door knocking and make sure he can’t even talk to anybody else. Get him signed, sealed and delivered. Tchouaméni, I know we’ve had a few conversations in private but man, I know you watch the show, looking down the lens right now at you, behind these shades, there’s only one club for you, man. If you’re looking to leave Real Madrid, we are the club. Man United are the club. If you want to make it happen, make the call. That’s what I’d do.”
Aurélien Tchouaméni is currently on vacation after the FIFA World Cup and is expected to join Real Madrid training next week.
