During September 2019, Rey Mysterio’s daughter was extensively involved in a prominent storyline on Monday Night Raw. Aalyah Mysterio was involved in a romantic relationship with WWE’s former Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy. The romantic storyline was born out of a heated months-long rivalry between Seth Rollins and the Mysterio family.

It was a time when Rollins was in his “Messiah” gimmick and Murphy was serving as his disciple. However, the latter was mistreated by The Visionary and it was then that Aalyah Mysterio started showing compassion towards Buddy Murphy. The storyline shifted into a classic wrestling romance where her growing affection for her family’s enemy created an intense rift within the Mysterio household.
However, it was just a part of the storyline that spanned a few months before being dropped. Aalyah eventually disappeared from WWE programming after the end of the storyline, while Buddy Murphy parted ways with Seth Rollins. It looks like Aalyah is now gearing up to make her NXT debut, while Murphy currently works at AEW under the ring name Buddy Matthews.
