Emma Raducanu is making the most of her time away from tennis by enjoying a vacation in Switzerland, practising and recovering from a stress fracture in her foot. The 23-year-old Brit recently rediscovered her mojo when she punched her ticket to the final on her home soil at Queen’s Club last month but succumbed to defeat against Donna Vekic.
However, she sustained a stress fracture in her foot, which ruled her out of Wimbledon. As she continues to recover from the fresh setback, Raducanu went to Switzerland to revel in the serene natural beauty. Raducanu took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her luxury stay and the sailing trip she embarked on during her fruitful time.

Notably, during the leisure activities, she was spotted without a foot brace. However, during her practice session, she sported a foot brace as she struck the ball on the complex’s clay court.
This wasn’t the first time Raducanu travelled to Switzerland to enjoy the natural landscape on offer. In 2014, she went for a family trip and enjoyed a long weekend with her parents.
Emma Raducanu in doubt for US Open
Returning to tennis, Emma Raducanu’s appearance at the US Open is clouded by uncertainty. She has notched just 11 wins this year, considering she has been out of action for a significant amount of time. Injuries and the after-effects of a virus have kept her out of a host of tournaments.
She withdrew from SW19 just hours before her first-round clash against Antonia Ruzic. After the heartbreak exit, she was spotted walking on crutches with her boyfriend, John Friend, as the couple headed for a dinner date. The lack of updates continued to cast doubt over her future.
With the Canadian Open underway, Raducanu opted against taking a trip to Montreal. She has also decided to skip the Cincinnati Masters but has yet to provide an update about competing at Flushing Meadows. She was also a notable omission from Great Britain’s squad for the Billie Jean King Cup finals in China as Katie Boulter, Harriet Dart, Mika Stojsavljevic, and Jodie Burrage made their way into the setup. Due to her continued absence, Raducanu has suffered a significant drop in the WTA rankings.
She dropped 12 places down to 49 and will continue to drop if she remains absent from action. With Emma Raducanu hitting the ball in Switzerland, a faint hope lingers about her appearance in New York. At the same venue five years ago, Emma Raducanu announced herself to the world by bagging the US Open title all the way through the qualifiers.
