In episodes 7 and 8 of the ENA drama Dream to You, following their distance and after a past revelation, Woo Soo-bin and Joo Yi-jae confess to each other. Yi-jae learns of Soo-bin’s sacrifice to keep her as director on the film project Gyeongseong Love Song. Yi-jae states that the love she felt at ages 18 and 19 continues in the present. The pair share a kiss and begin a relationship while working on the film, though they keep it private amid production rules of no dating.
In Dream to You episode 8, Cheol-gyu enters a studio. However, Soo-bin is also there, and he learns a major family secret. His biological mother is CEO Ahn Su-hee, and he and Oh Ha-na are half-siblings. But a flashback reveals that Soo-bin already knew this history from childhood. Yi-jae learns of it and reacts with shock. Soo-hee warns Soo-bin against informing Ha-na.

Dream to You episode 7 focuses on the casting process for the film Gyeongseong Love Song. Ahn Soo-hee demands that Shim Yoo-geon receive the male lead role of Mu-gyeom. She states that refusal will result in Joo Yi-jae’s removal as director. Woo Soo-bin agrees to the demand in order to safeguard Yi-jae’s position. Before the pressure from Soo-hee, Soo-bin had already intended to evaluate Yoo-geon through a proper audition.
Soo-bin instructs Yoo-geon to keep the arrangement confidential, so Yi-jae will not feel responsible. Yoo-geon chooses to tell Yi-jae the full details. Yi-jae talks to Soo-bin about his sacrifice. She tells him she no longer holds any blame. She reflects that Soo-bin first developed an interest in films because of his feelings for her and describes that emotion as something significant.
She also states that the love from when they were 18 and 19 remains present. She adds that his feelings are too substantial for her to ignore and asks him not to stop. The two share a kiss. They then tour the filming set together ahead of the first shoot.
In parallel in Dream to You episode 7, Oh Ha-na approaches Soo-bin and Yi-jae to request a role in the film. She explains that she has spent her life following instructions without personal dreams and draws a parallel between her situation and the female lead character Nan-yeong, who seeks escape from a confined existence. Ha-na explains that meeting someone who reminded her of Mu-gyeom encouraged her to imagine a different future.
Soo-bin, recalling his own earlier lack of direction, casts her in the part. Yoo-geon signs an exclusive contract with Ahn Soo-hee. The agreement includes a condition that he must not develop feelings for Ha-na. He distances himself from her and states that nothing existed between them. Ha-na expresses that she misjudged him and leaves in tears. The two are set to work together on the film, with Yoo-geon as Mu-gyeom and Ha-na as Nan-yeong.
Dream to You episode 8 recap
Dream to You episode 8 continues directly into production. Rehearsals start, but Ahn Soo-hee intervenes and removes Yoo-geon from the project due to contract matters. Ha-na signs a new agreement with her mother in an effort to protect Yoo-geon. Production faces disruption. Cheol-gyu enters Soo-bin’s studio while searching for his wife. Ahn Soo-hee is present and records the incident.
The history between Cheol-gyu and Soo-hee surfaces. Cheol-gyu tells Soo-bin in Dream to You episode 8 that Soo-hee is his biological mother and that Soo-bin and Ha-na share the same mother and are half-siblings. She gave him up years earlier to pursue her career. Soo-bin has known the information since childhood after overhearing family discussions.
He shares the details with Yi-jae, who is surprised. Soo-hee instructs Soo-bin not to disclose the truth to Ha-na and questions his motives for casting her. Soo-bin states that the decision was made solely in his capacity as director.
Soo-bin and Yi-jae continue their private relationship in Dream to You episode 8. They share moments of closeness, including during a team dinner and later in private.
At the same time, Ha-na and Yoo-geon experience ongoing tension on set. Yoo-geon later becomes intoxicated. Ha-na assists him when he has difficulty opening his room door. He hugs her from behind and apologizes for pushing her away, and he acknowledges his feelings. Ha-na responds by telling him to continue developing those feelings as a form of consequence.
Seo In-wook and Choi Sa-rang meet again. They spend the night together. Sa-rang asks In-wook to remain with her until the end of the film shoot. In-wook recognizes the depth of his own feelings.
In episode 8, a known actor named Seong-moo joins the production in a supporting capacity. Yi-jae recognizes him as a former partner. Near the close of the episode, an incident occurs on set involving Yi-jae where some part of the set falls. A man intervenes and saves her. The circumstances point to a connection with Yi-jae’s past.
Yoo-geon considers stepping away from the film under the combined weight of contractual obligations and related pressures. Ha-na continues to connect her own circumstances with the independence her character seeks.
