A Letter To President Trump – J6 Prisoner Still Remains In Captivity A Year And A Half Later Despite Damning Audio – Will Justice Ever Be Served?

In the beginning of 2025, when President Trump was first sworn in, he immediately fulfilled one of his biggest campaign promises pardoned all the J6ers that were wrongfully targeted by President Joe Biden’s DOJ Weaponization.

Over a year and a half later, two still remain in prison. Their names are Edward Kelly, a former marine and Solomon Pena, a former GOP candidate in the 2022 midterms.

In November, 2024 Kelly was convicted for allegedly conspiring to kill FBI agents. In July, just months after the President’s sweeping pardons he was sentenced to life in prison.

Pena was accused of allegedly orchestrating a “politically motivated shooting spree” of Democratic politicians and conspiring to kill potential witnesses in early 2023, following his loss in the 2022 midterms for New Mexico’s 14th State House district.

Pena was sentenced to 80 years in prison in August, 2025.

Kelly has submitted multiple appeals, that have been ignored over the past year and is still fighting the justice system to obtain his freedom. A federal judge continuously ignores Kelly’s pardon from the President.

Both Kelly and Pena are currently being held at the USP Atwater high-security federal prison in California. Kelly wrote an open letter to President Trump on behalf of himself and Pena, accusing the President of “abandonment.”

The Gateway Pundit has been in contact with Daniel Goodwyn, who is aligned with StopHate, an organization that advocates for J6 prisoners and Sarah V, who has been in contact with Kelly.

When President Trump issued his sweeping pardons, he called it the end of “a grave national injustice.” Kelly disagrees with the President and said that he is “making the same mistakes as late Roman Emperors.”

“That being fighting in foreign wars and entanglements while the Republic suffers from massive internal rotting and corruption. My continued imprisonment is a direct result of that rot and corruption,” Kelly declared.

Kelly asked several key questions in his letter and demanded answers from the President Trump a year and a half after the sweeping pardons:

“Does President Trump not care about that? Does he not care that a federal judge has ignored his pardon of me for January 6th, thereby violating the pardon clause of the US Constitution? Does he know about it? Is that information being kept from him by duplicitous staff that he put in place or failed to remove? Does Trump not know that most of the staff that persecuted patriots and Christians are still employed by him in the federal government?”

Kelly also told the President that “the ball is now in Todd Blanche’s court” to ending thew injustice for both him and Pena. Blanche was narrowly confirmed by the Senate to be the next Attorney General in a final vote of 50-49.

A man that fought for his country is now being held prisoner by the very same country he fought for. Kelly made sure to emphasize this in his letter:

“My life has been taken from me by my own government, whom I used to fight for. I am serving out a slow death sentence of life imprisonment due to a vindictive and disgustingly corrupt justice system. My life was taken away from me because I love my country and don’t want to see it fall into abject corruption and tyranny.”

Following Kelly’s arrest, an FBI whistleblower released a transcribed audio, where the FBI called for “revenge” on Kelly. The conversation was then covered up and lied about at Kelly’s trial:

While the remaining J6ers continue to enjoy their long and hard-fought-for freedom, both Kelly and Pena are still being held in high-security federal prison.

It has been almost two years since President Trump was sworn in and issued his sweeping pardons and this is still on ongoing issue.

Will justice ever be served for the remaining J6 prisoners that are still in captivity?

Kelly’s Attorney, Mark Brown did not respond to the Gateway Pundit’s request for comment.
