Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham has spoken out after a Chicago Sky player clotheslined her during a game yesterday, but her own woke coach refuses to have her back.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, during the first quarter of a game between the Chicago Sky and Cunningham’s Fever in the Windy City, Cunningham raced down the court for a breakaway layup while the Sky’s DiJonai Carrington chased after her.
Carrington caught up with Cunningham and landed a vicious strike straight across the face, sending the Fever forward straight to the ground. Cunningham somehow made the basket anyway.
Despite this seemingly obvious attempt to injure Cunningham, the WNBA refs only gave Carrington a Flagrant One foul at first. Then, they reviewed the play and upgraded it to Flagrant Two, ejecting Carrington from the game.
Once inside, Carrington went on social media and claimed the real reason she was ejected was because of “white privilege.”
Cunningham later revealed her reaction to the attack, saying that it was “unnecessary” and “intentional.”
She also said she did not know Carrington and said that she was “just trying to get attention” with the white privilege post.
“Clearly, I think it was like unnecessary. I’ve never really spoken to her and have no beef with her, but I guess she has some pent-up stuff,” Cunningham stated per ESPN’s Kareem Copeland. “So get your sh*t off. That’s fine. I can take it.”
“Yeah, it’s intentional. She wasn’t even on the team,” she added. “She has no reason to be doing any of that. So, good way to get her kicked out.”
“I don’t even know her. She wasn’t even on the team last year when all that was going on. But I do think when people play the Fever, we’re nationally televised, there’s a lot of eyes on us, and people just want attention.
“And that’s her just trying to get attention.”

But Fever coach Stephanie White’s reaction was very different. She not only DEFENDED Carrington by saying that her foul was not intentional, but also PRAISED her dirty style of play.
Did White forget who she coaches for?

“Yeah, I mean, look, it was a hard foul,” White said. “I don’t think that DiJonai intentionally came out to get her across the neck like she did.”
“But it did happen, and I thought it was the right call,” she added. “But you know, one of the things about Nay is that she’s gonna play her butt off, man.”
“She’s gonna compete. Nobody’s gonna go walking in for a layup. And so, I don’t oppose the hard foul. But I also don’t think that she intentionally went for the neck.”
Indiana Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith demanded White’s firing following her defense of Carrington.
