Disney+ original Korean drama Made in Korea season 2 is scheduled to premiere on September 9, 2026. International viewers will be able to stream the series on Disney+, Hulu and JioHotstar in selected regions. The drama stars Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung and Woo Do-hwan in the lead roles.
The new season of Made in Korea follows Baek Ki-tae as he reaches the highest levels of power, while prosecutor Jang Geon-young prepares a counterattack and Baek Ki-hyun pursues his own route to influence. The second season expands the political and crime driven story with shifting alliances, personal revenge, family conflict and a renewed struggle for power.

Made in Korea season 2 would continue the story introduced in the first season, which was set against the turbulent political and social landscape of 1970s South Korea. The story would continue from nine years after the events of the first season. Made in Korea season 1 centered on Baek Ki-tae, played by Hyun Bin, an ambitious Korean CIA officer who secretly operated as a smuggler while using political connections, manipulation and covert operations to build his influence.
His path repeatedly crossed with prosecutor Jang Geon-young, played by Jung Woo-sung, who became determined to expose the corruption, espionage and abuse of power surrounding him. Their confrontation resulted in betrayals, major casualties and an unresolved struggle for control, providing the foundation for the second season.
The new story takes place nine years after the Made in Korea season 1 finale. Baek Ki-tae has climbed further up the political and intelligence hierarchy and is now serving as the Deputy Director of the Korean CIA.
Despite his official position, he continues expanding his criminal empire and pursuing greater wealth and authority. Having reached a position that once seemed beyond his grasp, Ki-tae now faces threats from several directions as other powerful figures begin challenging the structure he has built.
Jang Geon-young returns after spending nine years preparing his counterattack. Following his defeat by Baek Ki-tae in the first season, he has been stripped of his position as a prosecutor. In Season 2, he works as a special advisor to the Joint Investigation Headquarters and returns with a carefully planned mission to bring Ki-tae down and settle old scores.
Woo Do-hwan returns as Baek Ki-hyun, Baek Ki-tae’s younger brother. Unlike his older brother, Ki-hyun is pursuing a different route toward power, creating a complicated relationship between personal ambition and family loyalty.
His growing aspirations place him directly within the larger struggle between Ki-tae and Geon-young. As the three characters move toward competing goals, their ambitions gradually create an irreversible rift that threatens to disrupt the existing power structure.
Seo Eun-soo returns as Oh Ye-jin, who undergoes one of the most significant changes in the new season. In the first season, Ye-jin works as an investigator who pursues the truth behind a massive criminal cartel through fearless investigative work.
Nine years later, she has become South Korea’s first female prosecutor after carving out her own career despite the resistance and disapproval surrounding her. She travels to Seoul at the request of the Joint Investigation Headquarters and begins working with Geon-young again after nine years.
Won Ji-an reprises her role as Ikeda Yuji, the adopted daughter of Ikeda, played by Lily Franky. Yuji previously joined forces with Ki-tae while pursuing her own considerable ambitions. In Season 2, she appears more daring and assertive, having spent the intervening years preparing to put her own plan into action.
Cha Hee plays Baek So-young, the sister of Ki-hyun and Ki-tae and Jung Sung-Il returns as Cheon Seok-jung. No Jae-won also returns as Pyo Hak-soo. The season is written by Park Eun-kyo, whose previous credits include The Silent Sea and Mother. Woo Min-ho returns as director after helming the first season, continuing the political noir style established in the original instalment.
