A recently crowned champion in WWE is very aware of the long road she has had to the present state of her career.
Raquel Rodriguez earned a title shot against Sol Ruca and faced her on RAW last month. Since joining the main roster in 2022, Rodriguez was not really pushed as a singles star. After she defeated Sol Ruca, she became the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
Thanks for the submission!
Considering her journey in the Stamford-based promotion, Rodriguez was pleased to win the belt after working with dedication for so many years. Speaking on Busted Open, she referenced Triple H’s post on X about her. She spoke about her bloody face in a photo after the title win, stating:
“Oh, for sure [I’m proud of that image]. For sure. I think it was very symbolic for me. Triple H said it best in his tweet afterwards, in his championship photo that he takes with every new champion. ‘Blood sweat and tears.’ Honestly, it’s been a long journey for me. I’ve gone through a lot… I feel like that photo really represented what I had to do to get to this title. What the journey took to become a singles champion for WWE again.”

The newly crowned champion in WWE was helpful to Liv Morgan during the latter’s injury
Liv Morgan had been on an injury hiatus from WWE a while back, and Raquel Rodriguez really helped her at that stage of her life.
Speaking on What do you want to talk about? With Cody Rhodes, Morgan explained how Rodriguez had been a motivational pillar for her when she was down.
“I was just on FaceTime just like being upset as I was always being and I was just was telling her like, ‘I just don’t believe in anything. I don’t have any faith right now on what this looks like on the other side.’ And it was just like so simple. She just was like, ‘Sister, I feel like when you feel like you have no faith is when you’re supposed to have the most.’ I feel like that was when I was kind of able to stop feeling sorry for myself. And just pick myself up a little bit. That was like the start of me feeling like, ‘Okay, I’m coming back like mentally, emotionally and physically.’ And so Raquel definitely, definitely helped me out of some rainy days,” Morgan said.
As of now, it remains to be seen what is next for Raquel Rodriguez in WWE.
