Linebacker Von Miller is returning to his hometown for the upcoming season. On Sunday, NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the eight-time Pro Bowler is finalizing a one-year deal to play for the Dallas Cowboys.
“ESPN source: Eight-time Pro-Bowl LB Von Miller is expected to sign with the Dallas Cowboys,” Schefter tweeted. “Miller is from Texas, went to Texas A&M, and now is headed to play for the Dallas Cowboys,”

However, fans on social media were not excited to see the 37-year-old join the Cowboys for the 2026 season. They mocked Miller and trolled the linebacker.

“Dude is way past his prime now. Lost a step. I thought he retired after last year. He was still very good with the Rams. But that’s 3 years ago,” one fan commented.
“Would’ve sent chills down my spine eight years ago,” another fan said.
“Cowboys always sign old people and then wonder why half their team is hurt mid season,” a fan wrote.

Von Miller also shared a post on X confirming his signing with the Dallas Cowboys.
In the photo, we see the linebacker wearing a Cowboys jersey. The three-time All-Pro accompanied it with a caption that read:

Miller played for the Texas A&M Aggies during his collegiate career. The Denver Broncos drafted him with the second overall pick in 2011. He spent 10 years with the team, recording 509 tackles, 110.5 sacks and 142 tackles for loss. He was also the Super Bowl MVP when they won the Lombardi Trophy in the 2015 season.
In 2021, he was traded to the Rams. Miller spent one season with them before agreeing to a six-year, $120 million deal with the Bills in 2022. However, after just three years, the eight-time Pro Bowler was released in 2025. Last season, he played for the Washington Commanders, recording 26 tackles and nine sacks for the team.
Skip Bayless shares his thoughts on Von Miller joining the Dallas Cowboys
Sports commentator Skip Bayless took to social media to share his two cents on the Dallas Cowboys picking up Von Miller.
According to him, this was a great move by Jerry Jones and his team.
“YES, SIR! Good move for the Cowboys to sign Von Miller,” Bayless said. “He’s 37 but had 9 sacks for Washington and he’s from DeSoto/ A&M and will provide championship wisdom/ stature. We had him on Gridiron at the SBowl. Fun to be around. Welcome home, Von.”
Last season, the Cowboys failed to make the playoffs. They finished second in the NFC East with a 7-9-1 record.
